NVDA is available in two versions: an app which is installed on a computer, and a mobile version which can be kept on a USB drive and used on any Windows computer. Together, we are creating a more accessible, inclusive world for people with vision loss. The NVDA screen reader can be downloaded free of charge by anyone. NVDA (Non-Visual Desktop Access) is a computer screen-reader program for Windows, developed by NV Access Limited. I have listed programmes that both I personally have tried on the Windows operating system, and that others have contributed to say that they work. Some of what I’m about to document may produce different results with other screen readers, so your mileage will. The software listed below was gathered together by the NVDA screen reader community - so that we could share this information with other NVDA users. While I do use the free version of Window-Eyes as a secondary screen reader, NVDA has been my access package of choice since the summer of 2009.
